Recommendations for use:
Action of active substances Extract of opuntia Opuntia is known since XVI century. To Europe the plant was delivered from Mexico. Opuntia contains materials that distinguish for many important features: *Amino acids help to regulate the amount of sugar in the blood, improve functions of liver and pancreas, increase tissue sensibility for insulin, and regulate adoption of carbohydrates, decreases fat absorption in the digestive tract. Amino acids also stimulate liquid recession form tissues, fat division and removal from organism; improve functions of liver and pancreas. Vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, C, calcium, magnesium and iron improve functions of liver and pancreas, increase cell sensibility for insulin, and perform detoxification. Melting fibres regulate glucose absorption in the intestine and infusible fibres help to remove from the organism the excess of bile acids and potential carcinogens (materials, that evoke cancer), improve digestive work, protects from constipation. Bioflavonoids and fibres reduce inflammation, distinguish for diuretic effect, and improve function of prostate. Extract of opuntia relieves the hangover. According to the completed researches the heaviness of hangover is related with inflammation, caused by alcohol division products. Opuntia suppresses inflammation, relieves the hangover (Jeff Wiese, MD; Steve McPherson, MD; Michelle C. Odden, BS; Michael G. Shlipak, MD, MPH ,Arch Intern Med. 2004;164:1334-1340.). During doubly controlled blind placebo researches healthy people used extract of opuntia and placebo 5 hours before usage of alcohol. While using extract of opuntia sharply decreased nausea, evoked by alcohol, dryness in the mouth; improved the appetite. (P<.50). The amount of C-reactive protein pertained from the heaviness of hangover. Besides, those, who used extract of opuntia, had 40% lesser amount of C-reactive protein than those, who used placebo. Extract of opuntia relieves hangover by suppressing emission of inflammation mediators. Opuntia contains a lot of vitamin C, which distinguishes for strong antioxidative features. Vitamin C strengthens the influence of opuntia extract. Extract of opuntia reduces oxidative stress, strengthens protective reactions of the organism. Vitamins B1 and B6 Vitamins B1 and B6 help to detoxicate acetaldehyde, which emerges after alcohol division. Thus vitamins B1 and B6 together with vitamin C help to relieve the hangover (Sprince and colleagues, 1974). In case of using alcohol very often, the amount of vitamins B1 and B6 is decreased. It is considered that in case of alcohol overuse the absorption of vitamins B1 and B6 in the intestine is violated; they are destroyed by acetaldehyde. After accomplishing placebo controlled researches it was determined that 50% of people, who used vitamins B1 and B6, had an easier hangover. Lipoic acid Reduced lipoic acid is a strong antioxidant. Because of the sulfhydril groups, that are present in lipoic acid, the aldehydes are very effectively neutralised. Lipoic acid protects cells of the organism, neutralises acetaldehyde as metabolite of the alcohol and thus relieves the hangover. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) It protects from cells violation of various tissues and organs, caused by alcohol. Vitamin C acts as antioxidant and imunostimulant; also it can protect from the increase of cholesterol level, caused by the usage of alcohol. The amount of vitamin C in the organism decreases while using alcohol, thus it must be used additionally. Zinc Zinc is a trace element that distinguishes for antioxidative effect and ability to stimulate the immune system, thus it has particular inflammation reducing features. Dosage 2 to 3 capsules 4-5 hours before the usage of alcohol. 1 to 2 capsules 3 times daily after the usage of alcohol. Literature: 1. Wiese, J., et al. 2004.
