It was established in 1999. In the beginning 24 kinds of homoeopathic medicines were produced, later it started making nutraceuticals (food supplements). Nowadays the range of products exceeds 50 kinds of herbal and natural products. The company has been growing and improving the quality of the medicines produced, the range of products and sales have been increasing. "Aconitum" is one of the leading companies in Lithuanian market. Its specialists raise qualification in training courses, seminars and international conferences in Lithuania as well as abroad. At present the company employs over 60 people. It allocates resources for the employees' professional training and qualification development. Every year the company "Aconitum" participates in international fares and conferences of medicaments. Its exposition was awarded prizes and diplomas.

The company designated funds for the development of the newest production technologies of medicines meeting European requirements.
In 1999-2004 the company carried out a modernization and launched new production lines and warehouses for storing medicaments according to the highest hygiene and environmental requirements, the newest equipment for producing medicines and controlling the quality was bought. Modern systems for water and air preparation and purifying, automated systems for regulating, control and maintaining air temperature, pressure and cleanness was installed in production and storing premises. The company performs regular internal and external quality audits. The company achievements were assessed granting the Certificate of good manufacturing practice, which is acknowledged in all member states of the EU and other countries. This certificate proves that company produces and sells the highest quality medicaments and is able to cooperate successfully with foreign countries. Raw materials for producing medicaments are imported from Germany , France , USA , Canada and other countries. Two departments bear responsibility for quality of medicines and medicaments produced, quality control system and its effective functioning in the company- they are Quality Control department and Quality Insurance department. The departments have to guarantee quality revision of the imported raw materials and other ingredients before using them as well as the quality of ready-made production before realization. The departments are responsible for organizing production process according to the regulations of Good manufacturing practice for medicaments and EU guidelines for Good manufacturing practice for medicines. A qualified person is responsible for releasing ready-made production to the market.

Joint-stock company "Aconitum" launched a new structural unit - a modern laboratory for medicine research in the first half-year 2005. The laboratory is equipped meeting the newest strict requirements of European standard EN ISO/IEC 17025:2000. It has special premises, is equipped with modern apparatus and facilities. It is possible to apply modern instrumental research methods and carry out chemical analysis of primary materials and ready-made products. It lets identify with the help of a new generation high pressure liquid chromatograph the concentration of active materials up to 0,1-10 nano grams. Laboratory quality handbook ensures high quality and safety of the products made and materials used.

Certificate of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), excellent production and storage premises, high staff qualifications are important factors in ensuring the highest quality and safety of production. "Aconitum" is penetrating other countries markets - its products are sold in neighbouring Baltic countries Estonia and Latvia. It cooperates with Scandinavian, Middle European countries, Austria , Czech Republic. Composition of products is created in cooperation with Lithuanian and foreign scientists seeking to offer customers the most effective and safe products. Product effectiveness is based on the newest scientific achievements. Some homoeopathic medicines are competitive in Lithuanian and foreign markets and became widely used by customers.

The Lithuanian Confederation of industrialists has awarded several products, made by pharmaceutical company „Aconitum“. Homoeopathic medicine "Acosedum" was given a diploma "Year product of Lithuania 2002", food supplement "Cardio formula" became "Year product of Lithuania 2003", homoeopathic medicine "Acotinum" was acknowledged "Year product of Lithuania 2004". Food supplements "Cardioglucan", and "Liuberin"  became "Year product of Lithuania 2005", and "Year product of Lithuania 2006", and have won the gold medals. In the year 2008 the food supplements „Vitamin C prolong“ and „Menacardin 7“, produced by „Aconitum“, have won the most honorable award – gold medals for the “Lithuanian Product of the Year 2008”, and the preparation „Visterox“ has won a silver medal for the „Lithuanian Product of the Year 2008".
